Mallory, Ella J.Tuesday, September 11, 2007
Ella Jones Mallory, 86, of Colonial Heights, passed away Tuesday September 11, 2007 at her residence. She was preceded in death by her parents , James Robert & Sallie Elizabeth Turner Jones her husband, Richard Wilson Mallory, sons; Richard Lee and Robert James Mallory, step father George W. Stell, several other brothers & sisters.. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church, a dedicated homemaker and her children were her life. She is survived by her daughters; Delores “Lois” Daulton & husband, Carlton of Chesterfield, Janice M. Gunn & husband, William “John” of Colonial Heights, Linda M. Gunn & husband Douglas “Mac” of Dinwiddie, Carol M. Nelson & husband, Terry of Blackstone, Shirley J. Modlin & husband, Troy of Colonial Heights, a son; Ricky L. Mallory of Petersburg, a brother; Clinton “Bumpsey” Stell & wife Burnett of Chesterfield, 14 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, numerous nieces & nephews. The family will receive friends at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T.Morriss & Son Funeral home & Cremation Service from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday September 13, 2007. A funeral service will be held at Grace Baptist Church 23814 River Road Petersburg, Virginia 23803 at 1:00 PM Friday September 14, with the Rev. Raleigh Nunnally officiating. Our condolences go out to the Mallory family. We all grew up with Carol, Ricky, and Shirley. Please know you are in our prayers. Love, I only met Mrs Mallory a couple of times, however she made an impression on me that I will remember a lifetime. She was a very sweet and kind lady that told me stories of her sons life. When she spoke about her family, I knew right of hand she was a loving caring mother. I could also tell how much love she loved God and her church. My heart goes out to her family.
