Howard Bozarth Flexon, 88 of Colonial Heights, died Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at the Colonial Heights Healthcare Center. He was preceded in death by his parents Rev. Charles Henry and Ruth Zukowski Flexon, his wife, of 53 years Gladys Virginia “Bunny” Baich Flexon, grandson, Howard Brian Flexon, brothers Eugene, Vernon, and Stuart Flexon, sisters, Gladys Lee, Naomi Chandler, and Miriam Person. Mr. Flexon was a self employed wallpaper contractor, working in the business for over 60 years, was the owner operator of Howard Flexon Wallpapering, a long time member of Memorial Methodist Church, changing his membership to Kenwood Methodist Church only after Memorial Methodist Church closed. He served his country with the U.S. Army during WWII and was awarded a Purple Heart. He is survived by his son, Howard Balch Flexon “Butch” and wife, Geneva of Colonial Heights; two daughters, Brenda F. Schmitz and husband, Lewis and Phyllis F. Mangum and husband, Ralph all of Sutherland; five grandsons, Robert L. Moore and wife, Arlene, Howard B. Moore all of Dinwiddie; Ralph “Dee” Mangum of Petersburg; Christopher D. Mangum and wife, Judy of Richmond, and Jeff D. Mangum and Michelle MacMillan, of Petersburg; one granddaughter Jessica Lynn Palmore and husband, Joe of Chesterfield, four great grandsons, Patrick Mangum, Daniel Flexon, Austin Moore, and Brian Palmore, three great granddaughters, Kayliegh Mangum, Katelynn Mangum and Courtney Palmore, two brothers, Paul P. Flexon and wife, Jane of Colonial Heights and Donald Flexon of Petersburg; sister, Ester F. Cousins and husband, Inky of Nags Head, NC, and a very good friend Frances Conner. The family will receive friends Tuesday September 11, 2007 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T.Morriss & Son Funeral Home where funeral services will be conducted Wednesday September 12 at 11:00 AM., with Dr. John Mason and Rev.
