Mosconi, Joseph

Joseph Dean Mosconi, 61 of Petersburg, died Sunday, September 2, 2007 at his father’s residence. He was the son of Louis John Mosconi and the late Rachel Rose Temple Mosconi. He was a retired Iron Worker for Local 28. He was an avid enthusiast of Harley motorcycles along with loving to jog and run. He enjoyed traveling especially South Dakota, Big Horn mountains, Grand Canyon and the Wind River Reservation in Wyoming. He loved western movies and his adopted rottweiler Sable. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Ruby Jean Payne Mosconi of Petersburg; two daughters, Kathy Moore of Matoaca, Shari Livengood and fiancé, Ray Edwards of Colonial Heights; three sons, David Moore of Richmond, Houston Steven Moore and Michael Moore both of Colonial Heights; five grandchildren, Samantha Phillips and fiancé Jon and Jesse Phillips all of Dinwiddie; Allen Dale Wood, Jr. and wife, Amanda of Colonial Heights; Angela N. Moore and fiancé, Tom Sharpe of Chesterfield, Jeffery Moore and fianceé, Tonya Miles of Richmond; nine great-grandchildren, brothers, Louis John Mosconi, Jr. and wife, Dusty of Dinwiddie and James W. Mosconi and wife, Chris of Greenville, PA., numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, September 7, 2007 at 1:00 pm in the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Thursday at the funeral home. Entombment will be in Southlawn Memorial Park. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Wesy Chappell, 1117 Ft. Hayes Dr., Petersburg, VA 23805 or Alzheimers Association, 4600 Cox Road, Suite 130, Glen Allen, VA 23060. Jean, our heartfelt condolences go out to you and Joe's family.We believe Joe to have been a good man. He was truly a friend to Herman & I. We will always remember him for his thoughtfulness and enthusiasm for helping people.

Blackie and family, We are so sorry to hear about Joey. It's been years since we have seen any of the family but I will always remember what a loving family you'll had and how very special your sons were to you and their Moma. We all know Joey is smiling now with his Moma that he loved so much. Sorry we just found out today or we would have been to the visitation. You and your family will be in our prayers. Please accept my sincere condolences. I am very sorry to hear about Joe. I know he will be missed by all who knew him. Please tell Blackie,Jimmie and Johnny that I think of the "Old Dog Hill" days often. My thoughts are with you all.

i am so very sorry for your loss. joe and i go back to our apprenticeship days in local 28 in the mid 60's.he was a fine apprentice and a great guy.my best to blackie and johnny. i believe the old harley was mine at one time . again my condolences. we will miss joe. moose
