Woolridge, William

William Edward Woolridge, 80 of Hopewell died Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at his residence. He was born in Roanoke, VA and had been a life-long resident of Hopewell. Mr. Woolridge was a member of Loyal Order of Moose #1472, a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and a retired shipping clerk from Celanese Corporation. He was the son of the late Harold Holmes Woolridge, Sr. and Ellaflo Aiken Woolridge. Mr. Woolridge is survived by two sisters, Ellen W. Gill of Hopewell and Dane W. Ross of Pittsburgh, PA, two sisters-in-law, Louise B. Woolridge and Joyce Woolridge, both of Hopewell, one brother-in-law, Eugene Rupard of King George County, VA. and many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held Thursday, September 6, 2007 at 3:00 PM in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester, with the Rev. Dr. Ron Bullis, pastor of First Presbyterian Church officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 1107 W. Broadway, Hopewell, VA, 23860. The family is being served by the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. To the Woolridge family: I was saddened to hear about the passing of Bill. I deliverd meals to him on Friday. He always had a kind word, and always talked about the Redskins. I will miss him. Pam Naulty

i am so sorry for your loss. i have shared many, many wonderful meals, plenty of cold beer and great times watching the old redskins with bill on his tv on lynchburg street. my best to the family.
