Cox, Goldie Ruth

Goldie Ruth Bonds Cox, 79 went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, August 28, 2007. Mrs. Cox was born in True, West Virginia and had been a long time resident of Hopewell before moving to the Colonial Heights Health Care Center 19 months ago. Mrs. Cox was a long time member of the South Hopewell Church of God. She was preceded in death by her parents, John S. and Macel G. Lane Bonds, her husband, Thomas R. Cox; a daughter, Dreama K. Cox Manley Bell; and a grandson, James Manley, III. Mrs. Cox is survived by five children, Ronald R. Cox and his wife Libby of Waverly, VA, Iva P. Cox Marlik and her husband Thomas of Hopewell, VA, Linda E. Cox Wray and her husband Ernest of Colonial Heights, VA, Donald L. Cox and his wife Ruby and Ricky A. Cox and his wife Wendi, all of Hopewell, VA., 10 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 2 step great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Thursday, August 30, 2007 from 7:00 to 8:30 PM in the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. A funeral service will be held Friday, August 31, 2007 at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Mark Lowry of the Church of God, assisted by Rev. Barry Ashbrook, pastor of Oak Grove Wesleyan, Montpelier. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester, VA. Condolences may be registered with www.jtmorriss.com
