JIMMY NORMAN BRYANT, SR. , 64, passed away Sunday, August 19, 2007 at Sentara Obici Hospital, Suffolk. Born in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Marshall Lee Bryant, Sr. and Frances Gay Atkins. Jimmy was a retired auto mechanic and an avid outdoorsman who loved to work with his tractor.
He is survived by his wife, Connie Lynn Bryant; a son, Jimmy Norman Bryant, Jr.; a daughter, Connie Bryant Daughtrey and husband, Tim; grandchildren, Ashley Bryant, Ricky Bryant, Jr., Candice Brown, Wendy Anson, Jimmy Bryant, III, Josh Bryant, Courtney, Timmy and B.J. Daughtrey; great-grandchildren, Kyley Hafford, Koen Bryant, Keyara Babb, Layla Anson; brothers; Sammy Bryant, Marshall Lee Bryant and wife, Shirley, Dickie Bryant; mother-in-law, Mildred Lynn; several sister-in-laws; a brother-in-law; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends; and family dog Dakota (Buddy). He was also predeceased by a son, Ricky Lee Bryant, Sr.; and two brothers, Robert Lee Bryant and William R. “Billy” Bryant; and sister, Rosa Jean Bryant.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 22, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Mill Swamp Baptist Church, Ivor, with the Rev. Jim Jones officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday evening, 6:30 until 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association. Brian Carroll with the Purviance Chapel, J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, Wakefield, assisted the family with arrangements. Condolences may be posted on our website at www.jtmorriss.com.

To Fran & Connie and the whole family: Iam so deeply saddened to hear of your loss of your Father,Husband,Grandfather,Brother,
Uncle etc and to me "JUST LIKE A FATHER FOR MANY YEARS". I have alot of special memories with & of him as I will hold very dear in my heart forever and will say a prayer for you all and to him every night as he would say when it was "TIME TO HIT THE HAY" :)-May God be with you all during this time & always to comfort you all and ease the pain as this is not easy for anyone. Just know I'm always here if you need anything. God Bless you all!
