John Albert Light, Sr., 72 of Disputanta, died Monday, August 6, 2007 in Johnston Willis Hospital in Richmond, VA. Mr. Light was born in Orono, Maine and had been a long time resident of Disputanta. He was employed in the Maintenance Department for the City of Hopewell. Mr. Light was preceded in death by his parents, Elden E. and Inez Morrison Light and a son, John Light, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Charlotte of Disputanta, three sisters, Arline Nowlin and her husband Charlie of Prince George, Marjorie Michaels of Blackstone, VA, Janet L. Hojsan of Redding, PA, two brothers, George Light of Baltimore, MD, David Light and his wife Sarah of Spotsylvania, VA, two sisters-in-law, Juanita Card and her husband Wiley Card, Wilma Barrales and her husband Manuel Barrales, a special niece Teresa Daniel and her husband Sye, a special great niece, Jessica Daniel, 2 special great nephews, Brien Gottschalk and Jack Thomas Daniel and several other nieces and nephews.. The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 8, 2007 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM in the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. A funeral service will be held Thursday, August 9, 2007 at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Beverly Nelan officiating. Interment will be in Appomattox Cemetery.
