Parrish, Walter L.

Walter Lee Parrish, 82 a native and a longtime resident of Petersburg, passed away Monday, July 30, 2007. He was the son of the late Raymond Lee and Mattie Williams Parrish. He was a retired clerk of court with the City of Petersburg and a former owner of Pickwick Flowers and Gifts. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Army. He was a lifelong member of the Third Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Joyce P. Bracey and Peggy P. Titmus, two brothers Edgar W. Parrish and Clarence W. Parrish. He is survived by his wife, Rose Payne Parrish of Petersburg; daughter, Rose Marie Parrish Steffen of Mevane, NC and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Thursday, August 2, 2007 at Third Presbyterian Church in Petersburg with a visitation one hour prior. Interment will be in Blandford Cemetery.
