Virginia West Clark, age 79, a resident of Neblett Mill Road near Waverly died after a short illness on Sat. June 30, 2007. Born on June 28, 1928 in Sussex County, she was the daughter of the late Thomas M. & Tressie Ellen Conrad West and step-daughter of Charlie L. Hogwood, JR. She was a semi-retired audit supervisor with the Colonial Heights office of Sears with 44 years of service.

She is survived by her husband Lyle Francis “Bill” Clark; 3 daughters, Judy Ellen Decker and her fiancé Frederick W. Phipps III of Prince George, LuAnn Clark of Waverly and Billie Sue Goff and her husband Robert “Bob” M Goff JR of Prince George, 2 granddaughters, Samantha Caroline Jeter and husband Jonathan and Cori Tress-Irene Larson, 2 twin great granddaughters, Zoë Michelle Jeter and Taylor Christian Jeter; sister-in-law Irene Clark Wagoner, 3 nephews, David, Donnie and Jamie Wagoner; and extended family, Shirley Warren, Teddy Faison and Betty Harrison. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a daughter, Candy Clark and a brother Thomas M. West, JR.

Virginia was a lifelong member of Newville Baptist Church, Waverly, a past member of the Waverly Women’s Club, and was a member of the Nominating Committee of Prince George Electric Coop, the Sears Retiree Club and the International Bluegrass Music Association.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday July 3, 2007 at 2:00 PM at the Purviance Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son, Wakefield with the Rev. Dr. Richard Bendall and Rev. Randy Hawkins presiding. Burial will follow in Waverly Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening 6:30 – 8:00 PM and at other times at the residence of LuAnn Clark, 23374 Neblett Mill Rd. Waverly. Memorial donations may be made to Waverly Rescue Squad, P. O. Box 583. Waverly, VA 23890 or to World Health Services, 21122 Cabin Point Rd., Disputanta, VA 23842. LuAnne and Judy, and all of the Clark family. Dave and I were sad to hear of Virginia's passing. The bus trips won't be the same without Virginia. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

My thoughts and prayers are with each and everyone of you during your time of loss and sorrow from the passing of Virginia.
She was a breath of life each and everyday I saw her at Sears, and away from work.
We were all truly Blessed in knowing and loving her, and she will truly be missed. I will keep you all in my prayers. Know that you can always call or write if you need to talk.

Bill, Billie Sue, LuAnn and family, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. She was such a sweet lady and would always remember me when she would see me at The Bluegrass Festivals. She will be deeply missed.
