SALLY ELIZABETH CROCKER, 74, died Sunday, June 17, 2007 at Magnolia Manor Nursing Home, Smithfield. Born in Isle of Wight County she was the daughter of the late J. W. Crocker, Sr. and Annie Sadler Crocker.
Sally was a graduate of Harvard University and worked for the U. S. Government with the Social Security Administration and other agencies in Washington, D. C. for over 25 years.
She is survived by her brother, John W. Crocker, Jr. and wife, Patricia, of Colonial Heights; and a sister, Margaret Durden of Smithfield; a niece, Elizabeth L. Crocker of New York City; and a nephew, John W. Crocker, III, of Washington, D. C.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 23, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Episcopal Church, Smithfield, VA. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church. Burial will be private. The Purviance Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, Wakefield, assisted the family with arrangements. Condolences may be posted on our website at www.jtmorriss.com.

We wish to offer our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Sally. All who knew her will sorely miss her humble quiet strength and kind heart. I owe her a great personal debt of gratitude for her counsel and kindness. When I lost my father she was a peaceful calm in a turbulent time. We will never forget her and she will always be in our prayers. I know that she is at peace and in the hands of the lord. We send our thoughts and prayers.
