I have fond memories of Lu from my high school days. I was on her Projection Crew for my 4 years of high school. She was a wonderful teacher, person and mentor. When I came back to Petersburg after being absent for over 30 years, she still remembered me.

She was just a wonderful person. God has called her be with him now.

My condolences to the family.

Lu was always very special to me in so many ways - the mother I did not have, a mentor, and an example to live up to, a true lady. She will always have a place in my memory and I know your family has so many more to sustain you. You are all products of her love as well as that of your father and I'm glad to have had the privelege of knowing them and you. You are in my prayers.

Dear Hugh, Sarah and family,

Our hearts and prayers are with you in your loss and grief. We fondly remember your mother's friendly, joyful disposition during her visits to Sioux Falls. Her influence as a devoted servant of Christ and a faithful Bible teacher will continue shape her family, church and community for generations to come. Dear Hugh and Sarah,
Please know you're in Marcia's and my prayers. What a life of witness your mother lived. And now her love of God has been perfected as she beholds the divine glory. Her death, as her life, is truly precious in the Lord's sight. With you we continue to wait with her for the joy of the resurrection.
Under the Mercy,
Philip

Dear Hugh, Sarah and family:
I was saddened to hear of the death of your dear mother. Her story suggests that she was truly a remarkable woman of God. Lee, Alice and family,
I sorry for your loss and will remember you in my prayer. Alice if you ever need a hug you know where to find me. To Lee and your brother here is a poem for you: God saw she was getting tired
And a cure was not to be.
So He put His arms around her
And whispered, "Come with Me"

With tearful eyes we watched
her suffer
And saw her fade away.
Although we loved her dearly
We could not make her stay.

A golden heart stopped beating,
Hard working hands to rest.
God broke our hearts t prove to us
He only takes the best

Lee, I hope your family may find some comfort in the poem. Take care Julie
