I was just informed of John's passing. I am very sorry for your loss Robin, Susanna, Sarah. I did not know my cousin John well, but he was a Chabinak so he must have been fabulous. All of you are welcome to visit your relative in the Florida Keys. Sarah, you do have a 2nd cousin in the Dallas area. Our thoughts and prayers are with you Robin.
Dear Robin, Sarah, and, Susanna,
Suzette and I, will always have warm and wonderful memories of Cousin John, and, all the family! John, like his father, was a caring, loving, and, very generous human being. I think that he enjoyed going to those flea markets with his father, my Uncle John. He loved those dogs that he raised while living in Colonial Heights. We were amazed when he took up the roping of cows from a horse! What a wonderful adventure for John! When you, Robin, and, John, came over to "the farm", and, he tried to teach "moi" how to use a firearm for protection, he couldn't believe, that I missed the pond entirely from the well, for that was like missing the side of a barn! Sarah, I know that you dad was very proud of you, for all that you've accomplished with your college and graduate programs, as we are! Susanna, I haven't seen you for quite sometime, but, I know that your brother loved you very much, and enjoyed his visits to your overseas home with Eric and husband!
Cousin John, contributed, and gave, so much to others lives, and, living. You will be very much missed. Your contributions, and, love to all of us, will be held in our hearts as a role model, and, for that we give thanks that you were a part of our lives!

To Robin, Sarah & Family,
Sorry to learn of the sudden loss of John. He was good person. He will truely be missed by all. We will keep you all in our thoughts & prayers. John has accomplished his mission and has moved on to a better place, but he will always be with us in our thoughts. He has followed that "thin blue line" to its end.
I worked with John during my time with Petersburg Police. My condolences to his family. He was funny (he always had a snappy comeback) and looked out for his people. Very few people can stomach working in that agency for any length of time. His 26 years was quite an accomplishment. He will be missed.
In Erinnerung an John H Chabinak,
es schmerzt und tut weh zu wissen das Du nicht mehr da bist.
Die Erinnerung an die schönen Zeiten die wir miteinander hatten, werde ich immer in Erinnerung bringen und mich daran erfreuen das es dich je gegeben hat.
Love Sigi

John,
My heart aches with your passing. Until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His Hand.
Robin,
I am so very sorry for your loss. Thank you for the many years of happiness you gave John. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
To the Family of John Chabinak,
I went to high school with John. He was a very friendly guy, never Judging anyone & was certainly cut out to be a police officer. I moved away from Colonial Heights, and did not know he chose this career. It's been along time since I saw him last, so imagine my suprise to hear of your loss. He certainly will be missed. GOD must have needed an angel police officer. Thoughts and Prayers go out to his family, and a special prayer to Robin and Sarah.

In remembrance of John Chabinak:
Our deepest sympathy to the Chabinak family and I am heart-broken for Robin, his love.
John was a kind, decent, honest, hard-working, loyal man and the City of Petersburg was fortunate to have his services. I'm certain that, in heaven, John will serve our Lord with same vigor.
I pray that a loving God will comfort you all during this time of bereavement, but I beg that he embrace Robin and guide her through the fog of her future. At some point, the fog will clear, Robin and the blue sky will return, as we all must go forward, being better human beings, because John Chabinak passed through our lives.

John, I will always remember our trips to and from Norfolk during our K-9 training, you were always a pain in the ass, but you always made me laugh. My memories will always be of good ones with you. Rest easy, as I know you are looking down and sending your love to all your family and friends. We miss you, love you, and my heart goes out to Sarah and your family.
I was fortunate to not only have worked with John for my 13+ years with Petersburg Police, but also to attend and graduate from Colonial Heights High with him. My thoughts are with Robin, who I also had the honor to work with, Sarah, and the rest of John's family, as well as the men and women of the Petersburg Bureau of Police. John's passing has left a hole in all who knew him.
