Wow, what a shock as I just heard the news. I can think back to many funny times with Dick in Germany, Columbus, New Orleans, Atlanta and most recently over lunch last month at Dinwiddie County's Pamplin Park. Dick refused to let me pay. That was Dick, always generous, always helping others and always with a smile seeing the good in life. He gave me a copy of one of the camouflage Gideon's Bibles that he had shipped over to our troops in the Middle East. I am glad that Dick was doing the Lord's work at Smyrna Baptist Church, the Southside Regional Medical Center and through the military Bible program. Dick will be missed and everybody whose life he touched will always carry a little bit of "Uncle Dickie" with them. I want to extend my condolences to Dick's family during this difficult time.

I had the pleasure to work with Dick at Kraft Foods and have the fondest memories of those times. Dick had a great sense of humor and would always share a funny moment to lift your spirits and make you chuckle. Even after his retirement we have stayed in touch, I will miss his humorous stories and jokes- his smile will be truly missed!

Dick always found some happiness in whatever he did and tried to share as much of that as he could with whom ever was around. Generous and funny. That's the last rememberance I have of Dick as he drove off in his Jeep. That's how I'll always remember him.

It was an honor & pleasure to have had the opportunity to work with Dick in Richmond. He was always so willing to take the time to talk to you & help you.
I'm glad he got to retire & enjoy the next chapter of his life. I'm sorry that next chapter was cut short.
Dick will always be our thoughts.
Sharing in your sadness today,
Sue

My husband John and I have known Dick for over 20 years and since then he has been a big part of our lives. Our children called him Uncle Dickie as did many of his other friends. He will be dearly missed by many, but never forgotten. We had some awesome adventures with Dick and many great memories. Our heartfelt condolences to his family.

"Dick" and I were fellow employees at Oscar Mayer Foods Corp. -- we go back to the early 1970's. I do not recall a time when anyone had a negative thought to say about Dick. Anyone needing a favor could always count on Dick to step up and help. If you were down, it was Dick who knew the right thing to do to lift your spirits.

No doubt his family and loved ones will miss Dick; that goes double for us who had the privilege to know him.

I was very saddened today to hear of the passing of such a fun loving patient of ours at the Colonial Heights medical center. Dick was a wonderful guy, no matter what kind of mood you were in , you smiled and laughed at least while he was there. Dick you will be sincerly missed!!!
Bless you!

Dear Mulliniks Family:
I was deeply saddened when I received an email about Dick's death. He and I go way back to the old Oscar Mayer days in the mid 70's when we worked together out of our old Atlanta sales office. He was always a hard worker and I thoroughly enjoyed being around him whenever we were at sales meetings, etc. We went through the food sales ranks together. The last time I spoke with Dick was two years ago when I retired from Kraft myself. We had a nice conversation and he seemed very happy there in Virginia.
I will always remember Dick and he was a good friend and a great person to be around. Once again, I am truly saddened by this news.
With Sympathy,

I worked with and have known Dick for almost 25 years at Oscar Mayer and Kraft. He was the greatest combination of funny and kind. Dick could make you laugh until you hurt and also send a thoughtful note, e-mail or give you a call. He sent me a letter congratulating me on 25 years with the company on personal letterhead that read..."Dick Mulliniks, Olympic Supporter". That was Dick, he was special.
