Crofford, Clifford D., Sr.

Col. (Ret) Clifford Deal Crofford, Sr. received his heavenly reward on May 11, 2007. He was born in Crockett, Texas the son of the late Marvin Washington Crofford and Emma Wedemeyer Crofford. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Jean H. Crofford; children, Cynthia Phillips and husband, CW4 (Ret) Charles Phillips, Jr. of Fayetteville, NC and their children, Michelle and Stephanie; Kristine Pruitt and husband, Edward of Raleigh, NC and their children, Austin and Grayson; Col Clifford Crofford, Jr. and wife, Irene of Newville, PA and their children, Caitlin, Lara and Daniel. Also his sisters, Mildred Chronister of Trinity, TX and Marvice Brewton of Porter Springs, TX. Col. Crofford’s 30 years of service in the U.S. Army included deployments to Europe, Korea, Philippines, and combat service in Vietnam. He retired as the Deputy Commander of the Defense Supply Center Richmond. The family will receive friends at the Chesterfield Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home on Monday, May 14, 2007 from 6 to 8 pm. A funeral service and burial with military honors will be held at the Fort Meyer Old Chapel in Arlington National Cemetery on July 25, 2007 at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517 Topeka, KS 66675-8517, www.woundedwarriorproject.org or your favorite charity. Condolences

Col.Crofford was my immediate military boss, (Supply Operations) before he became deputy commander of DSCR. If all military men would be like Col.Crofford.He had a beautiful personally. It was a pleasure to work for him. He loved going to the gym. Since I retired,I miss seeing Jean at the thrift shop. Remember all the precious memories.

My sincere condolences to the Crofford family. I worked in the Hazardous Material Information System branch from 1992 - 1997. I am currently deployed in Kuwait, but am still a DSCR Army Reservist. I also worked for one of the government contractors before I left last year. Wishing you peace and comfort during this very difficult time.

Dear Mrs. Crofford and family,
As a member of Col. Crofford's former DGSC family please accept my condolences for your loss. I truly enjoyed working with him because he managed to get things done with quality and always with a sense of humor. I'm sure he'll have Heaven squared away in no time.

We are very sorry to about Mr. Crofford passing. Neither my wife nor I had the pleasure of meeting him but that doesn’t matter what matter that he was a good person and that he left his great seeds in the pasture to grow great things. God bless you and your entire family.

I was very sorry to hear of your father's passing. I know you have been ministering to him for some time and now he is being ministered to by the Lord Himself.
