Arnold, Fred W.

Friday, May 11, 2007

Fred William Arnold of Chesterfield died Friday, May 11, 2007 at John Randolph Hospital in Hopewell. He was born on October 29, 1932, the son of the late William H. and Marian Foote Arnold, at the family homeplace on Centralia Road which was also his home at the time of his death. He had lived for several years on Grand Bahama and Grand Turk Islands while employed in the United States Manned Space Program, and he retired from the City of Richmond as an electronics technician. He is survived by one son, William W. “Billy” Arnold of Chesterfield, one daughter, Maryhelen Wisner and husband Mark of New Berlin, Wisconsin, one brother, Donald H. Arnold and wife Connie of Winnabow, NC, two sisters, Helen Miles Moran and husband Neil of Midlothian, and Betty Lou Johnsen and husband Melfred of Palm Bay, Fl, eight nieces and nephews, five cousins and many great-nieces and great-nephews. Fred was delighted to learn a few days ago that he was to be a grandfather later this year. “And when I’m dead and when I’m gone, there’ll be one child born in this world to carry on.” A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, May 16, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, 3050 W. Hundred Road, Chester, with Dr. Edward Stansfield, Pastor, Chester Baptist Church officiating. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com.
