Condolences

I read about Frank's death in the newspaper a couple of days ago and I was shocked. I guess that we beleive that our old friends will never pass away. I new Frank from college days at Texas Western. We had some classes together and if I remember correctly, the was a Phi Kappa Tau. We also shared interest in cars. I sat with him many times in his 55 chevy at the HillTop Oasis in the late afternoon while he folded newspapers getting ready for delivery. As I recall he had two routes to make more money. The whole back seat area would be full of newspapers. He would throw them out the window as he drove the route. This worked well because of the hardtop convertible car that he had. I think it was a red bottom and a cream top but I can't quite remember. I heard about him at Autotronics but we never made time to sit down ad drik a cup of coffee together. I had been thinking about that when I saw the obit. Waited too long didn't I? He is a very fond memory to me. My best to the family, a good man has been lost! Jon Hansen

I was saddened to read of Frank's passing. My memories of Frank come from my childhood. He was good friends with my mother and father (Fred "Pinky" and Barbara Cave). He went to Texas Western College with my father and later worked at El Paso Natural Gas Company where my mother worked. As a child I remember him pulling up in his red corvette (with the top off, not down, it was a hardtop that he left at home) to pick my mother up for work. She would head out the door and come right back in, "he's got the top off - I need to grab my scarf", and off they went. My father had diabetes which caused him to lose his eyesight. Frank was a dear friend to him. He would come by and take my dad out for guy's night out. My father passed away in October of 1966 and Frank remained a close friend of the family's.

Frank was a kind, caring and gentle man with a BIG heart. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

Fondly,
Carla "Cave" Dearing
