Condolences

Please accept my condolences. I was truly sorry to hear of Dave's passing. I worked with him at The Progress-Index for about two years when I was copy editor there. I was always impressed by Dave's dedication and attention to detail. He was among the last of the old-school newspapermen who viewed journalism as not a job choice but a lifestyle. I will miss his one-liners and his enthusiasm for youth sports. God bless you all in your time of grief.

My condolences to the Pittman family. Dave was my sports editor for the two years I wrote for the Progress-Index. We also worked together for the Richmond Free Press. He will always be remembered for his wise cracks and his love for dancing. I will remember him most for giving me an opportunity when others wouldn't. May God bless you all during this difficult time.

I went to Lancaster H. S. and Bethel Church with David when we were both teenagers growing up in Lancaster County. David was always loud and full of himself. He loved to play football and he lived to tease Carl. I remember him as a friend of my youth. Big Nancy

My condolences. While I know he suffered for the last few years, his life was far too short.

I will remember David fondly for his love of golf, dancing the shag and entertaining us all with a good joke or story.
