Hardin, Jimmie D.

Jimmie Dean Hardin, age 74, of Matoaca, VA, died on Friday, April 6, 2007. He was born in Parma, AR, the son of the late George and Sarah Stubbs Hardin. Jimmie was an inspiration to almost everyone he came into contact with. He dealt with adversity in his life in such a positive manner and managed to overcome it, time after time. He was also a dedicated current employee of the Colonial Heights Utilities Department, with 38 years of service. Jimmie loved to fish and collect hats from different locations where he vacationed across the U. S. He was a great fan of the Golden Corral in Colonial Heights. Earlier in life he was saved, baptized, and attended Matoaca Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Willie M. Hardin. Surviving family include five children, Jean Mosconi and husband Joseph of Petersburg, VA, Howard Payne of Wilmington, N.C., Dale Harrell and wife Mary of Manquin, VA, Chris Harrell and wife Rosa of Dinwiddie, VA, and Joseph Harrell of Richmond, VA; twelve grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; eleven great-great-grandchildren; and three siblings, Ted Hardin and wife Karla of Stoney Creek, VA, Kay Jarrett and husband Henry of Enon, VA, and Dan Hardin and wife Barbara of Hopewell, VA. The family will receive friends at the J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Petersburg, on Monday April 9, 2007 from 6 to 8 p.m. Graveside funeral services will follow on Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the Prospect Christian Church Cemetery, Dinwiddie.
