Condolences

For a number of years I worked with Ann at the Allied/Honeywell Tech Center. Through her, I met her husband, Doug, and daughter, Jennifer. The number of health problems Ann had to deal with was staggering. Yet on her worst day, she could make your day brighter. After Doug died, a few of us retired co-workers asked Ann to join us for breakfast about once a week. We'd talk about all sorts of things, but one subject would always come up with Ann . . . her family. Trips to North Carolina to visit family, trips to the beach with family and what was going on with her son (Jeri), daughter (Jennifer), and Grandsons (Evan and Elliott). Ann started exchanging e-mails with my wife, Barbara - much to Barbara's delight. When Barbara had knee surgery, Ann picked up bar-b-que from K&L for us. She often volunteered to stay with Barbara's Mom so we could go out for some 'alone time'. On Tuesday of last week, I called Ann to see how she was. She said she'd like to go out Thursday to eat lunch with the retiree group; and since she couldn't drive, asked if I'd pick her up. When I went to pick her up on Thursday, I found out she'd been taken to the hospital on Wednesday. Ann was always upbeat and always a lady - we'll miss her beautiful smile, witty personality and friendship. God bless Ann and all those she left behind.

Dear Jerry (Evan, Elliott and Jennifer),
I am a 2nd cousin to Doug Gilbert and spent a few summers with Ann and Doug in Hopewell in the late 70s - I hope you remember me. Ann and I have been email pals for a few years now. She was so very proud of all four of you and loved you all dearly. I will miss her emails and hearing stories about all of you through her. I pray that God gives you all strength in the coming days to deal with the loss of this wonderful lady. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and to her extended families and friends.
With my condolences and kindest Regards,
