James Wesley Kiefer,77, of Hopewell, died Thursday. March 29, 2007 in McGuire Medical Center, Richmond. He was born in Washington County, PA. Mr. Kiefer was a retired S/Sgt in the U. S. Army serving during the World War II, the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. He was a POW during the Korean Conflict and a member of the American Legion. Mr. Kiefer was preceded in death by his parents, August and Celia Lynch Kiefer, and brothers, Robert and Paul Kiefer. Surviving are his wife, Linda Vickroy Kiefer, of Hopewell, his daughters, Patricia L. Poitras, Mary A. Jones, Stephanie L. Kiefer, all of Hopewell, Va., Dawn S. Hallman, and Cynthia J. Moore both of Elgin, SC., three sons, James W. Kiefer of Columbia, SC., James W. Kiefer, Jr. of Killeen, TX., and Bradley J. Kiefer of Bellevernon, PA., 15 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, a sister, Patricia K. Klesser of Charleroi, PA . A funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 3, 2007 at 7P.M. in the Hopewell Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service, with the Rev. Jeff Raymond, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Interment will be private.
