Sullivan, Lewis "Eddie"

Lewis Edward “Eddie” Sullivan, 85, of Dewitt, passed away Sunday, March 25, 2007 at his residence. Born in Taylorville, IL, he was the son of the late Opal Shake Sullivan and John Roy and Winifred Sullivan. He served in the U. S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was the owner and operator of Sullivan’s Garage and Glass Shop in Dewitt for many years, operated an active farm, and retired from Fort Lee as a mechanic. Mr. Sullivan was an active member and Elder at Bott Memorial Presbyterian Church, a member of Dewitt-Rocky Run Ruritan Club, and American Legion Post 287. He was a loving and supportive husband and father. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Georgie Smith Sullivan; daughter, Sharon A. Suprun and husband, Steve of Chester; sons, Thomas E. Sullivan and wife, Jean of Midlothian and Robert B. Sullivan and wife, Beth of Dewitt; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Mary S. Moffitt of Morrisonville, IL; and brother, James Loren Sullivan of Arizona. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Thursday, March 29, at the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Interment will follow at Blandford Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com

I apologize for the lateness as the notice was just discovered, "Eddie", along with Georgie, are
among the "best" of our cherished memories. Heaven is filled with joy as we weep. May Christ's promise soon turn your tears to joy!

We were saddened to see the news of Eddie's death -- he was a wonderful person and such a great friend over the years -- and his presence will be sorely missed in many ways. You all are in our prayers and thoughts during these difficult days.

May uncle Eddie past through the gates with wishes and love from all of us that will miss him. Just remember when you hit you knees to say a prayer for Aunt Georgie and family. Remember he's still with us he just beat us to a better place.
