Matthew Michael Collins, 29, of Hopewell,VA died Saturday, March 17, 2007 at his residence. He was born in Kalamazoo, MI. Matthew was a research services associate with McGuire Veterans Hospital in Richmond, VA and was a part time student at VCU, working towards his master’s degree in social work. Surviving are his parents, Russell Allen and Regina “Cookie” Tatalajski Collins of Chester, his sister, Courtney Santella and husband, Pete of Prince George, two brothers, Chris A. Collins and John R. Collins both of Chester, two nieces, Alexis and Cayley Santella both of Prince George and his maternal grandmother, Regina Tatalajski of Colonial Heights. A funeral service will be held Tuesday evening, March 20, 2007 at 7 PM at the Chesterfield Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service with the Rev. Dr. Ivan Perkinson, officiating. Visitation will follow the service until 8:30 PM. Interment will be on Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia, Amelia, VA.
