Sweetser, Jr. Douglass DeForestSunday, March 11, 2007
Douglass DeForest Sweetser, Jr., age 76, of Chesterfield, VA, passed away Sunday, March 11, 2007. He was born in Boston, MA the son of the late Douglass D. Sr. and Mildred Downs Sweetser and was a previous resident of Paignton, Devon, U.K. He is survived by two daughters, Suzanne Long and husband Tom of Laurel, MD and Robin Deel and husband Hal of FL; five grandchildren, David and Jennifer Long and Sandy, Kelly and Sean Deel; his sister, Diane S. Springfield and husband Claude of Chesterfield; and best friend, Lucy, his Shihtzu. A private cremation will be held and his cremains will be privately interred at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to a charity of your choice in memory of Douglass. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com Condolences
Diane and Family: I am so saddened to hear about Doug -- my Mom, Jean Dinsmore, and he were neighbors and he wouldl cook for Mom weekly. How she looked forward to that! He took such good care of her and was a very dear, dear man. I will miss him greatly on my visits to Richmond. My thoughts are with you and Doug at this difficult time. |
