Wright, Lydia C.Tuesday, February 20, 2007
Lydia Carr Wright, 68, formerly of Hopewell, died Tuesday, February 20, 2007 in Heritage Hall in Blackstone, VA. She was born in Hopewell, where she spent most of her life. Mrs. Wright was a retired telephone operator. She was the daughter of the late John F. & Pearl Chavis Carr and the widow of Harold Wright. Mrs. Wright is survived by two daughters, Terri Hyatt and Karen Greene and her husband Joe of Newport News, four grandchildren, Natalie Mares and her husband Thomas, William Joseph Greene, all of Newport News, Rebecca Hyatt and Elizabeth Hyatt both of Chester, a great grandson, Kyle Mares of Newport News, a sister, Barbara C. Allin and her husband Earl of Prince George and three nephews. A graveside service will be held Friday, February 23, 2007 at 3:00 PM in Bermuda Memorial Park, Chesterfield County. My deepest condolences go out to the family of Lydia Carr Wright. She was a wonderful friend from my childhood, whom I've known since we were twelve years old when we were neighbors in Hopewell, Virginia. I was very saddened to read her obituary in the paper.
