Duda, Thelma W.

Thelma W. Duda, “Bambi”, 78 of Prince George departed this life February 19, 2007 at Medical College of Virginia. She was a Budget Analyst for the Air Force at Fort Lee & co/owner of Swim World. She was preceded in death by her husband Jacob T. Duda and grandson Ted L. Duda, Jr. and was the daughter of the late Lewis Lanier and Effie Williamson Wells. She is survived by two sons David G. Duda of Colonial Heights, Ted L. Duda, Sr. and wife Carolyn of Dinwiddie; grandson, Alex Duda of Colonial Heights; great-grandson, Ted L. Duda, III of Dinwiddie and his mother Rose M. Bailey; sister, Mary W. Lewis of McKenney; sisters-in-law, Margaret Alise Wells of Petersburg, Marie Steele and Helen Duda; brother-in-law, Paul Duda and Andrew Duda; former daughter-in-law, Lois M. Duda of Colonial Heights and many nieces and nephews, special friends and companions, Bill Atkinson and Karen Whitton. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 23, 2007 with the Rev. Dr. Lewis Brown officiating at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Blandford Cemetery. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com.

Dear David and Family,
I was saddended to hear about the loss of your mother, Thelma was a wonderful person. She never knew a stranger and would help anyone that she could. She was a special lady. We are all blessed to have know her with her beautiful smile and spirit.

David and family,
Thelma was such a lovely woman. I so enjoyed getting to know her. I will remember Christmas Dinner 2006 and the good time we had at Karen's house. My deepest sympathy is extended to you and your family, during this time. May you hold the memories of her close to your heart, in the days ahead.
