Baxley, Mary B.

Mary Bowman Baxley, 85, of Hopewell, widow of Gilbert W. Bowman, Sr. and William H. Baxley, Sr., passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2007 at her residence. Mrs. Bowman was preceded in death by a son, Gilbert Warren Bowman, Jr... She was a member of Powers Memorial Baptist Church and retired from the Food Service Department of John Randolph Hospital and Nursing Home. Mrs. Baxley is survived by a daughter, Nancy Devers and her husband Alfred, a son, Donald Bowman and his wife, Amanda, a step-daughter, Rebecca Baxley Cibula and her husband Emmett and a step-son William H. Baxley, Jr., grandchildren Rebecca Flowers and her husband Mike, Debra Middleton and her husband Eric, John Devers, Dylan Bowman, Morgan Bowman and a granddaughter by choice, Dana Clemons and her husband Devin, 3 great grand children, Blaine Middleton, Skylar Middleton and Abigail Flowers, and numerous step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Thursday, February 8, 2007 from 7:00 to 8:30 PM in the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. A funeral service will be held Friday, February 9, 2007 at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Karl Heilman, pastor of Sandston Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester, VA. Memorial contributions may be made to Crater Community Hospice, 840 W. Roslyn Road, Suite E, Colonial Heights, Virginia, 23834. Sorry to hear of the loss of your loved one. I just heard about it today (Sunday). I never met Mary so don't know if there were health problems, but know that you all are in my prayers.

SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT YOUR MOM . WISH WE COULD BE THERE BUT BURT JUST CAME OUT OF HOSPITAL.THE FAMILY ARE IN OUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS . GOD BLESS YOU ALL

I think of Mary Bowman as the very effecient and professional person that I respected during my early years working a JRMC. Warren was also one
of my patients during his frequent admissions.
She is part of the good memories of JRMC.
