Saunders, Lois L.

Lois Lester Saunders, 86, of Hopewell, died Thursday, January 18, 2007 in John Randolph Medical Center. She was a life-long resident of Hopewell and was employed with Civil Service at Ft. Lee. Mrs. Saunders was a member of West End Presbyterian Church and received the highest civilian award presented for heroisom by the U. S. Army. She was preceded in death by her parents, D.H. and Mary Copenhaver Lester, her husband, Ernest Edward Saunders, Sr. and a brother, Carl Lester. Surviving are her son, Dr. Ernest Edward Saunders, Jr. and his wife Patricia, a grandson, James David Saunders all of Herndon, Va. A graveside service will be held Monday, January 22, 2007 at 3 :00 P.M. in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester with Bob Lane, pastor of First Christian Church, officiating.
