Condolences

There are no words to express my feelings to how sadden I am to hear of your loss. The only comfort is knowing that they will be together forever. She was not only my teacher but also my neighbor and most of all my friend.

Words cannot express my sincere sadness, loss, and sympathy to each of you. Joyce was like a "second mom" to me, having done my student teaching under her and teaching with her in the business dept. at Thomas Dale for more years than I care to admit. It is still difficult for me to comprehend that both John, now Joyce, are no longer with us. May they both now be in peace together.

With sincere sympathy,

Betty Hudgins

I realize there is very little one can do or say at a time like
this. But, I do want you to know that you have my
deepest sympathy.

God needed another angel so he called Joyce home.

I knew Joyce about 10 years through TOPS. She was a lovely
lady. She was always sweet, kind, and professional in every
way. Joyce taught my two younger sisters, Marie and
Geraldine at Thomas Dale High School. They had nothing
but kind words about Joyce.

I will miss her very much especially her E-mails. My
thoughts and prayers are with you. God Bless!

I don't know of any finer person than Joyce Harvey. As a Chesterfield County business teacher at Matoaca and Meadowbrook High Schools, I had the pleasure of knowing and working with Joyce professionally for many years. Joyce was such a delight--always warm and friendly with a ready smile. My thoughts and prayers are with her family as they deal with her loss. You are a blessed family to have had the honor of counting Joyce as your own.

We also are saddened by the death of Joyce. I (Virginia) was raised in the same neighborhood as Joyce and we were playmates/friends in those growing up years--yelling from yard to yard (no phone) "Can you come over & play?". We could not keep in touch all those years of raising our families (and I regret that) but were reunited at the Gravel Ridge Reunion in 2001, I think. We have e-mailed each other on a regular basis since and have enjoyed sharing during these last few years. Our prayers are with you, the family, as you go through this grieving peiod and especially since you lost both parents in such a short time span. Lean on our Lord and take comfort in the fact that your Mother and Father are in Heaven and not suffering any more. We will continue to pray for each of you. Joyce was very proud of each of you and often sent me pictures of you via e-mail. I thank God that I had the good fortune to have Joyce as my friend. She was a sweet child growing up and a lovely grown lady. My husband knew Joyce through Rustburg High School. We are disabled as far as walking goes and would love to attend the burial service but may not be able. If we don't get there, we will be with you all in spirit anyway.
