Swindell, Guy C.

Guy Clement Swindell, 83, of Hopewell died Thursday, December 28, 2006 in John Randolph Medical Center. He was born in Stonewall, North Carolina and had been a long time resident of Hopewell. Mr. Swindell was a member of DuPont Lodge #289 AF&AM and a retired construction worker with A. T. Piner Construction Co. He was the son of the late Charles G. and Cynthia Stowe Piner and the widower of Sylvia Piner Swindell. Mr. Swindell is survived by a daughter, Sylvia S. Montgomery and her husband Dan of Hedgesville, West Virginia, two sons, Neal Garland Swindell of Hopewell, Michael Tate Swindell and his wife Theresa of Disputanta, 5 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren, two sisters, Louise S. Kale of Cambridge, Ohio and Cynthia M. Mason of Hopewell. A Masonic memorial service, which friends are invited, will be held Friday, January 5, 2007 at 7:00 PM in the Hopewell Chapel of J.T.
