John Levi Grigg, 86, of Colonial Heights, passed away Monday, December 18, 2006 at the McGuire V.A. Medical Center. Born in Dinwiddie County, he was the son of the late William and Lois Jackson Grigg. He served in the U. S. Army during WWII and was a retired pipe fitter with Dupont Corporation. Mr. Grigg attended Immanuel Baptist Church and the V.F.W. Post 2239. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Adkins Grigg; daughter, Donna Grigg Burton; son, Warren Grigg both of Chester; sister, Margaret Louise Grigg; brother, Thomas Grigg both of Colonial Heights and grandson, Gregory James Burton of Midlothian. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 pm, Thursday, December 21, 2006 at the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 22, 2006 in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Jerry Parker, Pastor of Immanuel Baptist Church officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Southlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Salvation Army, 1228 S. West Street, Petersburg, VA 23803.
