Susan Chermak Sodomka, just as she lived, gracefully departed this life on Friday, December 15, 2006. Mrs. Sodomka was 96 years of age and spent her entire life in the Hopewell area. Thousands of Hopewell High graduates will remember her as “The Lady in White” at Coley’s Confectionary, who with a great smile, served them hot dogs, burgers, cherry cokes and cho-chos. Many the local lady visited Kepley’s Cloth Corner to be helped by Mrs. Sodomka who had a special “knack” with colors and style. Mrs. Sodomka was married to Joseph Sodomka for 69 years until his death in 2002. She is survived by their three children, Frederick Sodomka and wife Joan of Great Falls, MT, Roberta Rucker and husband Larry of Goochland, VA, and Stanley Sodomka and wife Harlene of Charlottesville, VA; two grandchildren, Becky Venters of Colorado Springs, CO, and Heather Creech of Glen Allen, VA. Mrs. Sodomka was a member of West End Presbyterian Church for 70 plus years. The family will receive friends at the J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home of Hopewell, VA on Monday, December 18, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, 2 p.m. at the West End Presbyterian Church, Hopewell. Interment will follow in Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens, Prince George, VA. The family wishes to express a special thank you to Pat Beville and Becky Harris for their long and loyal service to both Mr. and Mrs. Sodomka. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com

Sue me and everyone who knew you will miss you so much you were a sweet person I enjoyed sitting with you for just those short 9 months i was there with you , you are a sweet lady I know god above Loves you in his kingdom of heaven. You are with your husband now looking down over heaven at all of us smiling down on us saying your ok up there in heaven you are truly missed down here on Earth. We will see you someday soon keep smiling and laughing thats how i will remember you Dear.

mrs. sodomka was a very special lady!! I was with her for almost 4 years. i seen her smile and i seen her cry, she was very special to me. my mother worked for her also for many years as did my sister, we all grew to know her as another grandmother. my mom loved sue very much and often came to see her when i was there, sue loved to have visiters!! she's with her husband now i know she missed him very much, god bless you sue!!! your missed very much.

Mrs. Sodomka i will miss her I worked for her in her home for 9 months grew to love her like my grandma. She was a sweet lady who loved everyone I will miss her so much my prayers go out to her childeren shes with Jesus now he will take good care of her in Heaven.I started workinng for her on March 6, 2006 till December 13, 2006 she was a nice lady who i well miss seeing.
