Condolences

Gordon was a very generous man. He made a difference in people lives both professionally, through his work at District 19 and personally, through his contact with friends and neighbors. Gordon gave me two starter grape vines which I planted last year and I will think of him everytime I look at them growing and thriving in the back yard.

Dear Mrs. Morrisette and family,

I played clarinet with Gordon in the Chesterfield Community Band. He was a fine musician and a real asset to our clarinet section. I will miss his music and his friendship. I pray that God gives your family comfort during this sad time of loss.

Gordon loved to share his gift of music and was known to drive many miles to play his flute with several area bands. I remember him when he first joined the flute section of the Richmond Concert Band in May of 2004. He was good at improvisation and also he could play any tune by ear. This came in handy when the band was slated to play at Imperial Plaza last December and our music did not arrive. We were faced with a dilemma and Gordon came forward and started to play some Christmas carols, finishing with a little jazz improvisation he made up on the spot. He was an instant hit and his playing brought a smile to the audience and also to all of us in the band. I speak for the flute section when I say that we were blessed to know Gordon. Our thoughts and prayers will be with you during this time of grief and in the healing time to come.

Dear Rose, Cason, and Lucy,

I can't tell you how sad we were to hear of
Gordon's death. He will truly be missed. I know
he must have had a heart of gold to put up with us for all those years. Ian had a great respect for him. I think he enjoyed being around him.
If thare is anything we do, just call.

May God be with you all,
Donna, Ronnie, and Ian

I knew Gordon as a co-worker for a while before I became his supervisor and co-worker in Jail Services for more than two years. We led goups, planned curriculums, discussed treatment philosophy, and had good times together. I have learned much from my association and friendship with Gordon. Many have benefited from his dedicated work, including one my daughters. The treatment and recovery communities have lost a powerful force, but his legacy and the echoes of his work in the lives of others will go on forever. God bless Gordon and his family.

Gordon was a co-worker at D19, but we got to know each other better in the last couple of years. Gordon was special. He had a wry sense of humor and was passionate about his music. I know he touched many lives, both those of co-workers and those of the clients he saw, and will be missed. His family is in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Morrisette Family,
I worked with Gordon at District 19 CSB and he was a gifted and compassionate therapist who will be deeply missed by both staff and clients. Gordon was gentle spirit who truly believed that everyone could rise above the challenges of life to become their personal best. Know that he touched many lives and made a difference. My thoughts are with each of you during this difficult time and I pray God will give you comfort and peace.
