McCabe, Jacqueline Scott

Mrs.Jacqueline Scott McCabe, 84 died peacefully at the home of her oldest son & daughter-in-law on November 8, 2006 of a declining illness. She was born in Campbell Co. Virginia to Clyde and Cecil Scott on January 13, 1922. She is predeceased by her parents, brother, Charles, and her husband John Stanley McCabe, Sr. Mrs. McCabe obtained her Masters Degree from William and Mary College and was a teacher in the Virginia School System for 35 years; she was a member of the First United Methodist Church where she also sang in the choir. Left to cherish her memories are two sisters, Thelma Cormier of CA. and Jean Arnett of Fl.; three sons, John S. McCabe, Jr. & wife Helen, David S. McCabe, and Darrell W. McCabe and wife Sandy; seven grandchildren, Larry, Jennifer, January, Matthew, Michael, John S.III, and Scott. She also has ten great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Friday, November 10, 2006 from 6:30 – 8:00 PM in the Hopewell Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A. M. Saturday, November 11, 2006 in the Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. O. H. Burton, Jr. officiating. Interment will be in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George, Virginia Condolences may be registered with www.jtmorriss.com

My sympathy to your family during the loss of your mother. She was my second and third grade teacher at Prince George (Melva Ingram). I also remember her from our church, First United Methodist....a fine lady indeed. May God comfort you and bless you.
