Coleman, Walter E.

Colonel Walter Emerson Coleman born Aug. 3, 1924, in Amelia County, passed away Oct. 19, 2006, in Chippenham Hospital. He was predeceased by his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Ashton Coleman and one sister, Frances Coleman Melvin. Colonel Coleman is survived by his wife, Kate Rose Coleman; his son, William Lewis Coleman and wife, Pamela; his grandsons, John Ashton Coleman and Michael Thomas Coleman. Colonel Coleman served his country during WWII, Korean War, and Vietnam War and was highly decorated to include the Silver Star. Colonel Coleman attended VA Tech and was a graduate of The College of William & Mary. Colonel Coleman received his masters degree from Tulane University in New Orleans, LA. At Colonel Coleman’s request there will not be a visiting hour. Colonel Coleman rests at the Chesterfield Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. A graveside service will be held an Saturday, October 21st at 2 pm for the immediate family only. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
