Aniva McCulloch Norris, 70, a longtime resident of Wakefield, passed away Monday, October 16, 2006 at Sentara Obici Memorial Hospital, Suffolk, Virginia. Born in Hawaii she was the daughter of the late Claude Crammer McCulloch and Lila May Jefferys McCulloch. Mrs. Norris loved gardening; was a past member of the Wakefield Woman's Club; and a member of the Wakefield United Methodist Church. She was retired as Office Manager for the Meherrin Chemical.
Mrs. Norris is survived by her husband, Lynwood F. Norris of Wakefield; and three children, Sharon N. Newton of Virginia Beach, Debra N. Schneider of Wakefield, and William C. "Bill" Norris of Wakefield.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, October 18, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 8100 Granby St., Norfolk, Virginia. The family will receive friends at Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, on Tuesday evening, 7:00 until 8:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in honor of Aniva's memory to the Waverly Vol. Rescue Squad, P.O.
