Powell, Audrey L.

Audrey Louise Powell, 81, of Disputanta, daughter of the late Robert and Annettie Johnson Smith, passed away Sunday, October 15, 2006. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 PM Tuedsay, October 17 at the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday at Southlawn Memorial Park, with the Reverend Burt Cloud officiating.

Born in Wynona, Oklahoma, Mrs. Powell was a retired executive secretary for Brown & Williamson Tobacco Company. Mrs. Powell was a faithful member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Disputanta for 52 years.

Mrs. Powell was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, William Powell, and her son William R. "Billy Bob" Powell. Surviving to cherish her memory are her daughter-in-law, Harriette Powell Womack and husband, Jim; grandchildren, Robert William Powell and wife, Ashley, Lisa P. Cole and husband, Femi; great-grandchildren, Taylor L. Powell, Shelby M. Powell, and Madeline E. Cole, all of Haymarket, VA; a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
