Akins, Jeanette P.

Jeanette Peeples Akins, 90, of Richmond died Monday, October 9, 2006. She was a native of Hopewell and daughter of the late Charles L. & Natha Fay Jackson Peeples. She was the widow of Vernon Lee Akins, Sr. She is survived by a son, Vernon Lee Akins, Jr., and wife Patricia; grandchildren, Christopher and Jonathan Akins, Kimberly Young and husband Mark, all of Midlothian; great-granddaughter, Ella Madison Young also of Midlothian; sister, Virginia Peeples White of New York; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Wednesday October 11, at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 pm Thursday, October 12, 2006 in Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg with the Rev. Beverly McDowell officiating.
