Chase, Robert E.

Robert E. Chase, 84, of Chester, passed away Monday, October 2, 2006. Bob, Bea & family have been owners of the Busy Bea Quilt Store for 30 years and he was known as “Busy Bob.” He was a member of the Chester United Methodist Church, a veteran of the United States Army during WWII and was retired from Allied Signal with over 20 years of service. He was the son of the late David Earl and Mayme Fitzgerald Chase and was preceded in death by his sons Jeffery David Chase and Dale David Chase. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 yrs., Beatrice Sargent Chase; daughter, Catherine A. Chase of Chester; son, William Bennett Chase and wife Amy and their children Alexander and Olivia of Maryland; Jeffrey’s wife, Lynn Chase and their children Melissa and Matthew of N.C. Matt is currently serving with the US Army in Iraq. Also surviving is a brother, Edward Chase and wife Phyllis of Illinois, and their children Deanna, Cynthia and Brian, and numerous nieces and nephews of Georgia. The family will receive friends Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2006 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. in the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Thursday, Oct. 5, 2006 at 1:00 P.M. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester, VA. Bea and Cathy and family, I am so sorry about your husband and Dad. I know this is so hard on you right now, but know God is right beside you every day. Most sincere sympathy to you, Bea and Cathy especially. We will miss "Busy Bob" but also cherish happy memories. You are in our prayers.
