James David "Buddy" Curl, 55, passed away Wednesday, September 27, 2006 with his family by his side. Born in Dendron, Virginia he was the son of Vonnell Turner Curl and the late William E. Curl. Buddy had worked as Groundskeeper for Claremont Manor; was a past member of Union Hunt Club and Trails End Hunt Club; and a member of Dendron Baptist Church.

Besides his loving mother, he is survived by a son, James Daniel Curl of Richmond; a daughter, Wendy Brook Curl of Waynesboro; a sister, Patricia C. Presson and husband, Tommy, of Dendron; a brother, Donnie Ray Curl and his wife, Donna, of Seneca, SC; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Robert E. Curl.

A Memorial Service will be held at Dendron Baptist Church, Dendron, Virginia, on Saturday, September 30, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Ray Rowland officiating. Burial in Union Cemetery will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Surry Volunteer Rescue Squad, P. O. Box 188, Surry, VA 23883. TO THE CURL FAMILY..I JUST HEARD THURSDAY MORNING ABOUT THE PASSING OF BUDDY. I AM SORRY THAT I CANNOT BE THERE TO SEE HIM ON TO A BETTER PLACE, BUT HE WILL BE GREATLY MISSED AND REMEMBERED BY THE DAVIS-COLLINS FAMILY. MARY BETH, EARL HUNTER (BOY) AND VIRGINIA DAVIS (MEMA).
