Collie, Erlene C.

Erlene Cannon Collie, age 76, of Chesterfield, VA, who spent the last nine years at Lucy Corr Village, died on Sunday, September 24, 2006. Ms. Collie was born in Brunswick County, VA, the daughter of the late Jesse J. and Stella Wray Cannon of White Plains. She was a loving and caring wife and mother who enjoyed baking and family gatherings. She was employed by the Chesterfield County Commissioner of Revenue’s office for a number of years as an account clerk. She was a member of the Chester Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a husband, Roy Edwin Collie. Her surviving family members include three sons, Edwin M. Collie of Brunswick County, VA, Leonard M. Collie of Aylett, VA, and Bruce Collie of Santa Paula, CA; one sister, Phyllis C. Brockwell and husband W. Jr. of Lawrenceville, VA; one brother, Malcom T. Cannon of Richmond, VA; three grandchildren, Madison, Tracey, and Kim; and four great-grandchildren, Brandon, Bradleigh, Alyssa, and Violet. The family will receive friends at the J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Chesterfield on Wednesday, September 27, from 6 to 8 p.m. where funeral services will be held on Thursday at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in Bermuda Memorial Park, Chester.
