Cole, Harry W.

Harry West Cole, 86 of Colonial Heights passed away Thursday, September 21, 2006. A native of Halifax County, he was born the son of the late James E. and Fannie B. Cole. Mr. Cole served in the U.S. Army and was a World War II Veteran. He was also a retired carpenter and a member of Elm St. Baptist Church in Petersburg. Mr. Cole was preceded in death by his wife Lucille Sizemore Cole and is survived by three sons John Vincent Cole of Richmond, Gene West Cole of Yorktown, VA, and Charles Ernest Cole of Madison Heights, VA; four grandchildren, Vincent Cole, Meghan Cole, Shannon Dennis, and Bryan Cole; two great-grandchildren, Walker and Riley, brother; Causey Cole of Clarksville, sisters; Estelle Gupton, Gladys Newcomb, & Barbara Woltz, all of Halifax. A graveside funeral service will be held at 3 p.m., Monday, September 25 at Aaron’s Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Halifax, VA with the Rev. Harvey Skinner officiating. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service.
