Hemphill, MarcusMonday, September 18, 2006
Marcus D. Hemphill, 85, of Petersburg, passed away Monday September 18, 2006. He was the son of the late John C. & Carrie Edwards Hemphill and the widower of Cleo H. Hemphill. He was retired from Civil Service and was currently employed as a truck driver for Geth Trucking Company. He is survived by a brother; Thurman Z. Hemphill of Houston Texas, two sisters; Helen Pollard of Corpus Christi, Texas, Doris Hanlon of Carrollton Kentucky, his fiancé Brenda Williams Daughtry, and his close friend and “Main Man” Joseph E. Massey, Sr. A graveside service will be conducted Thursday September 21, 2006 at 10:00 AM in Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the SPCA of Petersburg & Colonial Heights 1906 Boulevard Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com Condolences
