Brown, Alfred E.Friday, September 15, 2006
Alfred Edward Brown, 92, a longtime resident of Petersburg and widower of Sally Bowlin Brown, died Friday, September 15, 2006 at McGuire VA Medical Center. Born in Lundale, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Franklin Pierce and Lenna Cook Brown. Mr. Brown served in the U. S. Army during WWII and was a retired employee of E. I. Dupont Company. He is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 PM Tuesday, September 19, at the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service with Pastor Rodney Jenkins of Pine Grove Baptist Church officiating. Entombment will follow at Southlawn Memorial Park. I am very sadend to here about the passing of Alfred. He was a very dear friend, neighbor, and father figure. When my father and mother were sick he did what he could to help. He was always their to asist and guide on any repairs needed at my parents home. When my father was sick Alfred always took time to talk with and kid with him. He was never to busy to take my father to the doctors office. His laugh and smile will be missed. I will miss him.
