Partin, Jean H.

Jean Holmes Partin, age 78, of Chester, VA, died on Saturday, September 9, 2006. She was born
in Richmond, VA, the daughter of the late John E., Sr. & Bessie Foster Holmes. She was a graduate of John Marshall High School in 1945 and served as their Alumnae Committee Chairperson since that time. During WWII she was a spotter for aircraft at the Curtis Rd. intersection tower. In 1952 she began working for Goyne Chevrolet as a Secretary and did so for 30 years, then continued with Heritage Chevrolet on a part time basis for several more. Her memberships include: the greetettes for ACCA Temple Shriners; Chester Women’s Club, where she was a strong organizer of the Cotillion; Chester Methodist Church since 1948, where she was the treasurer, member of the United Methodist Women, and sang with the Joy Singers. Mrs. Partin was preceded in death by a son, Scott D. Partin; a sister, Sue James Martin; and a nephew, Stuart Gregory. Surviving family members include a husband of 58 years, Robert B. Partin, Jr.; a son, Robert W. Partin and wife Stacey of Chester; a brother, John E. Holmes, Jr. and wife Ann of Charlottesville, VA; two granddaughters, V. Ashley Partin and Caitlin B. Partin, both of Chester; a sister-in-law, Jean P. L. Watkins of Church Road, VA; a special nephew, Chris Holmes of Lancing, MI; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other family members. The family will receive friends at the J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Chesterfield on Tuesday, September 12th, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Funeral services will follow on Wednesday, 11 a.m., at the Chester United Methodist Church. Interment will take place in Sunset Memorial Park of Chester. The family request that memorial contributions are made to the Chester United Methodist Church Organ Fund. Bob, I am so sorry that I can not be there for you. You and Jean are always in my thoughts and prayers. I love the both of you so very much. I wish that I could be there for you and since I can't I know the services are at 11:00 at that time I will be in the prayer room at First United Methodist Church in Clearwater, Florida, this is my church. I know that you will feel my presence and my love. We have had so many great times....you and Jean have given me a ton of great childhood memories. The best ever. I am so sorry that I am not there please forgive me and know that I truly love you and Jean and everyone there. You are always in my thoughts and prayers, love , DeeDee, Nicole, Alexis and Rachael
