Cooke, Dr. Judith Anne

Dr. Judith Anne Cooke, 59 of Mechanicsville, VA died Monday, August 21, 2006 in Richmond Community Hospital. Dr. Cooke was born in Somerset, KY and was a former resident of Hopewell, VA. She was a graduate of William & Mary where she also received her Masters degree. She earned her PhD from Virginia Tech. Dr. Cooke was a supporter of the Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens, a member of the Norwegian Elkhound Society, was a member of Shady Grove United Methodist Church and was employed with Capital One. She was the daughter of the late Ret. Lt. Col. Ellis A. and Vella Withers Cooke. Dr. Cooke is survived by her brother, Fletcher A. Cooke of Hopewell and two nieces, Jennifer C. Boynton of Augusta, ME and Elizabeth Darcy Cooke of Nashville, TN. A memorial service will be held Friday, August 25, 2006 at 2:00 PM in Shady Grove United Methodist Church in Mechanicsville. The family will receive friends at the church following the service. Interment will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to Shady Grove United Methodist Church, P.O.
