Harrell, Harvie C.

Harvie Carroll Harrell, 87, a lifelong resident of Petersburg and widower of Eunice Elder Harrell. He was born October 7, 1918, a son of the late Barley Lee and Lillie Tudor Harrell. Mr. Harrell was a World War II veteran serving in the U. S. Army Air Force for 4 ½ years which earned him the Bronze Star for meritorious Aerial Achievements. He was a longtime member of High Street United Methodist Church and a retired employee of E. I. DuPont de Nemours and Co. with 41 years of service. He was a member of Colonial Hunt Club, Sussex County and the American Legion Post 2, Petersburg, VA. Mr. Harrell was preceded in death by ten brothers and sisters. He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews including his caregivers, Virginia Walker and Jackie Mingia. A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, July 27, at Southlawn Memorial Park with the Rev. Harry Byrd Jones officiating. A procession will depart the Petersburg Chapel of J. T.
