Clay, Aubrey S.

Aubrey Samuel Clay, 77, of DeWitt, passed away Thursday, July 20, 2006. Born in Dinwiddie County, he was the son of the late James Samuel and Sadie Sutherland Clay. He was a lifelong member of Central Baptist Church where he served on the Board of Deacons and served on the Dinwiddie County Board of Supervisors for 29 years. He was a retired farmer and business owner in Dinwiddie County. Mr. Clay was preceded in death by a sister, Alice Green. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ann B. Clay; his children, Sam Clay and wife, Debbie, Terry Clay Arthur and husband, Chuck, Steve Clay, and Mary Clay Buyalos and husband, Bruce all of Dinwiddie County; grandchildren, John Clay and wife, Kristin of Chester, Jamie Arthur, Amanda Clay, Abbey Arthur, Philip Buyalos, David Clay, Alex Clay, and Clint Buyalos all of Dinwiddie County; sisters, Mary Graves and Inez Bennett; brothers, James Clay and Clifton Clay. A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 PM Monday, July 24, at the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service with the Rev. David Angel officiating. Interment will follow at Blandford Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Central Baptist Church Memorial Fund, 6405 Courthouse Road, Church Road, VA 23833. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com.

I am saddened to hear of Aubrey's passing and my heart goes out to my nephew David, niece Amanda and to Steve, along with the rest of the Clay family. I always respected Aubrey growing up and know he will be dearly missed.
