Fenderson, Francis M.

Francis Marion Fenderson, 92, a lifelong resident of Dinwiddie County and widower of Eleler Minton Fenderson, passed away Monday, July 17, 2006. Born October 24, 1913, he was the son of the late Horace Greely and Emma Burrell Fenderson. Mr. Fenderson was a retired Virginia State Game Warden and an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. He was a humanitarian who loved his family and his many friends. He was an active member of West End Baptist Church for many years and was Past Chairman of the Board of Deacons and was a member of Dinwiddie Lodge #136 A.F. & A.M. Mr. Fenderson is survived by his daughter, Arie F. Blankenship of Dinwiddie; his son, Francis M. Fenderson, Jr. and wife, Theresa L. of Richmond; grandchildren, Alicia B. Lee and husband, Dan of DeWitt, Angela B. Burke and husband, Cullen, Grant C. Blankenship and wife, Kathryn all of Dinwiddie, Brooke F. Kingsley and husband, Stephen of Fredericksburg, Francis M. Fenderson, III and wife, Anitra, Kathryn F. Shewey and husband, James, Elizabeth G. Fenderson and Christopher W. Julian all of Richmond; great-grandchildren, Taylor Lee, Jordan Lee, Cameron Lee, and Meredith Lee all of DeWitt, Alexis Graham, Aaron Graham, Garrison Burke, Aime`e Blankenship and Brandon McGregor all of Dinwiddie, Teagan J. Fenderson of Richmond, Clare L. Kingsley and Piper M. Kingsley of Fredericksburg; and a sister, Margaret F. Marek of Dinwiddie. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Thursday, July 20, at West End Baptist Church. Interment with Masonic Rites will follow at Southlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00 PM tonight at the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the West End Baptist Church Endowment Fund, 6506 Boydton Plank Road, Petersburg, VA 23803. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com.

Matthew and I are sorry to hear of Grandaddy.s passing. He was a great man that neither of us will ever forget. Grandaddy was so good to us and touched our hearts. Our hearts go out to all the family.

I have known Francis Fenderson for many years from childhood when the lived on Halifax St. There has never been a better liked man. He will be greatly missed. My condolence goes out to the Fenderson famly.

Hello Arie and Francis. I'm very sorry to hear of the death of your dad. I have very fond memories of him, your mother, and both of you. Those were wonderful days then.
