Pearlie Elton Lee, Sr., 88, of Hopewell died Sunday, July 16, 2006. He was born in Mt. Olive, NC the son of the late Pearlie Allie & Mary Quinn Lee. Mr. Lee was a U.S. Army Veteran and served in World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife Frances Stillman Lee and a brother John Randolph Lee. He is survived by four children Elizabeth Hartbarger and her husband Earl of Toccoa, GA, Elton “Butch” Lee, Jr. and his wife Carole Robertson of VA Beach, Donna Haddon and her husband Tom of Nags Head, and Joyce Holmes of Chester; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one sister Margaret Lee Holland and husband Carey of Dallas, TX. A graveside funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 18th at 9:30 AM at Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends tonight at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service from 6 to 8 PM. Flowers are welcome or the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the charity of your choice. I knew Elton at the old Nitrogen plan and at the Hopewell Comm.. center. If ever a person loved his wife it was him. It was almost certain that he would go find her quick.
