Morter, Dorothy M.

Dorothy M. Morter of Chester, VA died on Friday, July 14, 2006. She was the widow of the late Robert L. Morter, Jr. and daughter of the late Clarence O. and Mary Davis Ashley. Dorothy had been a member of Powers Memorial Baptist Church in Hopewell, VA since 1962. She is survived by a daughter, Jeanie Crawford of Chester; two brothers, Bobby and Larry Ashley, both of Honea Path, SC; three sisters, Mary fields and Joyce Cowan and husband Billy, both of Honea Path, SC and Wilma Tumlin and husband Don of Graycourt, SC; two grandchildren, Doug Crawford and wife Angie and Lori Edwards and husband Mason, both of Chester; two great grandchildren, Jordan and Macy Edwards; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Chesterfield on Monday, July 17, from 6 to 8 p.m. where funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Chester.
